A Sunday in the rain

Like I wrote on sunday, we slept for a while and did some cleaning – but then we felt that even though it was Sunday, and also raining – just staying home was so boring, we wanted to do something! So we headed in to town and a cozy café.

We headed to Espresso House and just relaxed. I enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate, photographed a little and sketched/doodled. Andreas read in a book he’d borrowed. Due to the rain, the air was crisp, not many people where out and about and it was rather calm and quiet there.

It was still raining a lot when we left the café – but non of us minded that – on the contrary, we rather liked it. We decided to walk to a park/forest called Slottskogen which was totally the right decision! It being a sunday, and raining and all, there were practically no people there. Just the sounds and smells of rain, forest and nature. Amazing.

A family of geese - Andreas has seen and photographed them before, when the kids were smaller (and four, instead of three…). They were really adorable, and came really really close! We stayed around, photographing them a while before heading off deeper in to the woods. We just strolled around in the rain, enjoying nature and animals, talking and photographing. Below are a few of many pictures I took. It was great to photograph so relaxed and undemanding for a change. Read more

Old, rusty and worn

There’s just something about us photographers, we find old, broken and worn things so beautiful and inspiring. We’re also hoarders – collecting all kinds of weird objects we can find/buy for the use of photo props, backdrops etc. Me and Andreas saw an old, rusty bike yesterday – and both of us just had to photograph it. Besides being worn by time and weather, it’s colors and the fact that it stood alone in the rain made it even more beautiful and photogenic.

Monday Morning

I’ve had a slow, relaxed and cozy morning in bed. I got up a little after 07.00, made coffee and breakfast. I crawled back in to bed and enjoyed it all while reading the latest issue of the travel magazine Vagabond.

Right now I’m wearing a supercozy, knitted cardigan, while listening to First Aid Kit (new found love!) and editing pictures from my day out with Andreas yesterday. I’m considering making another cup of coffee. I will make a blog post about yesterday before I continue to work, I have pictures to edit and emails to send.

Rainy Sunday

It’s a very grey, rainy Sunday today. We slept very long today, relaxed and did some cleaning. We still felt the need to get out though, and we both actually like rain and find it cozy so we headed in to town.

We’re currently at a café reading, photographing and just enjoying taking it slow and doing nothing in particular.

Isabella L | Denim

Remember that I shot the wonderful Isabella a while back? We did shoot a second outfit at that time, and I finally had the time and inspiration to finish a few images.

2 Years Later

It does not feel like too long ago that I was at Linn’s place (shooting these images; Keeper of the Forest I & II). That was also when I found out that I’d been accepted to the school of photography, after applying for the second year in a row. I was finally taking a huge step towards my dream to become a professional photographer.

It’s been 2 year since that and so much has happened. We’ve had a lot of different courses; reportage, architecture and interior, lighting, fashion/studio, movie making, something called “monday projects” and a image agency workshop as well as business knowledge and some courses together with those studying to become art directors, copywriters, like this and this. We also worked with the  3D makers at our school. We had a short, personal projekt as well as our bigger project, the final exam. We’ve taken a trip to Berlin and we’ve made a catalogue/photobook and held a exhibition too.

As for working as a photographer, I have started my own business and had some work. Some weddings, a book cover, photos for da Matteo and a baby shoot are a few jobs I’ve done. There has been a lot of new people/friends/models that I’ve met and photographed during these 2 years and my social skills and portrait skills has developed a lot – as well as the content of my portfolio!

Garden of Moyen

Moyen, or Lillemor as is her real name, but everyone calls her Moyen (I can’t remember why) – is my moms cousin. She’s an amazingly creative person, she sews, paints, creates things with mosaic, is great in the kitchen but most of all in her garden. It’s really big (growing bigger) and whenever we arrive, there’s a lot of new stuff and changes going on. As always – I stroll through it with my camera, always finding lovely and inspiring things to photograph! This time, she also gave a tomato -and chili plant for me and Andreas to cultivate on our balcony!

Walking the lane of memories

20130605-124507.jpg

Today’s 5 years since I graduated. It was one of the best days in my life. My last year had been rough in a lot of ways, and suddenly I was free. I’ve never cried so much out of happiness as I did that day.

There are some aspects of it that I do miss though. Like all the wonderful people I had a lot of fun with – there’s not as much time for hanging out these days…

20130605-123939.jpg Also, my style back then.. Oh my, I was so cool ;) haha

5 photo shoots with Anna Kern

The last two weeks of my internship were so intense, Anna had a lot of photo shoots booked. She was a bit stressed at times, and I understand her – it’s not only about organizing the shoot, making it happen and work for one day. Then you have to edit everything and deliver it, which is not easy when there’s new shoots every day.

But I do envy her, I’d love to be in her shoes nonetheless – to be so booked with shoots and make a living out of my photography! I have to remember though, Anna’s been doing it for at least 10 years, I’ve had my business for 1.5 years haha – I have a long road ahead of me!

I can’t show you too much before it’s all published, but I though’t I’d show a little from the 5 shoots we did quite rapidly – like a teaser ;) I’ll blog some more about each once’s it’s published.

food_photoshoot_01food_photoshoot_02The first job was to photograph food (something I was so psyched about!). It was to have a summer theme  -  a lot of food that was easily cooked on, and/or brought to dine at a pier. Sanna Liedgren was both chef and food stylist

bogesund_01bogesund_02 The next job was to shoot interior for NK Stil – the magazine for those with a membership at NK. We did so for 2 days at the castle Bogesund, with all it’s amazing environments. I can’t wait to show you more of that place!  Read more
