da Matteo | Borås

a while back, coffee chain da Matteo opened a new shop in Borås. I visited it twice last week, and the second time I noticed that I recognized their pictures on their wall – and after a while I realized they were mine haha! I’m so slow sometimes. I did a job for them last year and they got a lot of pictures from me, and they are up on their website. It was really fun to see some of them in print, hanging as art now too!

Easter Holidays

Happy Easter everyone! I hope your holidays has been great – mine has! Me and Andreas spent a lot of time outdoors, wandering, enjoying the sun and sighting a few signs of spring. Besides that we’ve been doing nearly nothing besides relaxing, eating a lot of candy and good food. We spent some time with my parents during the weekend at it was a lot of fun. What have you been up to?

Great Weddings is a blog showing what they perceive to be the most beautiful, nordic weddings. They also write about wedding inspirations, DIY and things like that. I had the great pleasure of being contacted regarding the wedding of Rebecka and Rickard that I photographed last summer, and I was featured/published on their blog a few days ago! You can read the full article here.

da Matteo – Coffee shop, roastery and bakery

da Matteo means “at Mats’ place”, and it sure feels like coming home to someone when entering their facilities. Mats and the crew has done  a great job creating a café with lovely environments (and great coffee!).

These environments, which I had often grabbed a coffee in, tempted the photographer in me and I contacted Mats – and suddenly I sat, having a coffee with the founder of the coffee chain, and got to hear about him and the story of his life. Soon, my interest also turned into a job as I roamed their cafés with my camera – and now my pictures can be seen at their website www.damatteo.se

They currently have four coffee shops in Gothenburg, one newly opened in Stockholm and soon Borås will get one too! da Matteo is more than just a coffee shop though, one of their stores (their biggest) in Gothenburg is also a bakery and the place where they roast and ship their coffee. They also have courses in making leaven and various barista courses and some coffee tasting.

Rebecka & Rickard

When I got an email from Rebecka asking me if I wanted to shoot their wedding, I got excited and happy; of course I wanted to! When I then met them for the first time, I knew I’d made the right decision, we seemed to be on the same page. They had a folder with inspirational pictures, and they had even scouted a place for the shoot – I was in heaven! I got even more excited when they asked if I wanted to be with Rebecka and her bridesmaids at the hotel in the morning, while they got ready.

Something else that fascinated me and made me smile, was that Rebecka and Rickard spent the last night apart, and did not see each other again until Rebecka walked through the doors of the church. The tension, oh my – she was so happy, yet looked very calm! I glansed at Rickard who stood in front of the church, waiting – but he too looked pretty calm and just.. peaceful and happy. I knew then, that these two are really meant to be. Something came over me where I pictures myself walking up the aisle having my loved one waiting for me, and I got goosebumps! I got myself together though, and shot the lovely ceremony.

The shoot afterwards was joyful, easy and full of laughter and waay to many kisses (almost) ;)

Borås Tidning

During the summer, an old classmate of mine that worked as a journalist contacted me and wanted to write about me for the local newspaper.

Not so long ago that reportage was published – it’s so fun! It’s in Swedish though, so sorry to all of you that can’t understand it :/

It’s basically about me and photography, how I got into it, about my school and how work and life as a photographer is turning out :)

Earthy Portraits

Some portraits of Emelie that I shot a few weeks ago.
I love that forest, and the light was beyond amazing <3 I am ever grateful to mother earth for all her wonders and beauty, and for the fact that I am alive to see it and create art withing it all. Thank you.

Wedding Preparations

I’m shooting a wedding tomorrow, so I’m heading home to Borås and my parents soon (that’s where the wedding will take place). My bag is packed with 2 cameras, a reflector, some lenses, a lot of memory cards and so on – I am ready! It’s hard to know what kind of clothes to wear. Will it be warm outside? One do get warmer by running around photographing for so many ours. It has to be comfortable and easy to work in, yet not look to shabby since you’re at a wedding!

But oh I am so excited. The couple is really cute and friendly, and we’ve found a really great spot for the shoot to take place, actually the couple did find it – I am so grateful for that! Also, I will be with the bride for a while in the morning at a hotel, while she’s getting her hair fixed and such, which will be so much fun!! I am so glad to shoot weddings, it’s so fun and enjoyable to get to be a part of someones lovely day, share all the joy and happiness and capture it with my camera(s).

I’ve made a board with wedding photos that I find inspiring on Pinterest. Check it out here!
