Miscellaneous sketches

Here’s what I’ve filled my sketchbook with recently. Anatomy and stuff are fucked in some pictures I know, it is a sketchbook and nothing finished. Anatomy practices, doodles done during class, ideas roughly drawn etc.

The feather totally isn’t done yet, dotwork takes time.. also, I shouldn’t have done that square-thingy in the middle, it kind of ruined the whole thing haha!

On our way home

After three weeks up in the north (Andreas has been here four) it’s time to go home. We’ve been on the train since eight o clock this morning, it’s lunch time now and we’re soon in the capital.

I’ve spent the journey so far looking at art and sketching some on the iPad. I’m going to change the position of her legs though, they look to firm/short/stiff/wrong

Sketchy sketchy

So, I want to start drawing again. You know, photography used to be my hobby, my creative fun and a break from the everyday life. Now photography IS my everyday life, and my job. So it’s not soothing, or a break in the same way anymore – even though it’s still a lot of fun and I really really enjoy it! But I need something now, to use as a break from photography
I was into drawing before I got a camera, and recently I’ve noticed how much more I look at painted art (both traditional and digital) than photography, for inspiration and such. I have a board for stuff like that on pinterest, and I use my tumblr to reblog/save inspiring shit that I find useful for my own drawing.

Because I’m going to start again, drawing shall be my break from photography. Too bad I more or less suck at it at the moment though haha! I really need to practice a lot of anatomy and such, so now I’m just sketching poses etc, by looking at people in town, or photographs, other people’s drawings etc. Practice practice practice! It’s fun though :D I hope to be able to combine drawing and photography somehow, draw more On my photos perhaps.

I’m very content with numer 1 and 2 here, the poses and such. They came straight from my head, so no reference. Number 3 failed brutally haha, and I had a picture for reference – god damnit! The neck is too long and her torso should be in a different angle, more twisted to the right, not straight up front… but even though it did not turn out very well, I can see the faults and flaws – which is a good thing!

I think I’ll make her some sort of character of mine, I need to work on her some more..

A dreamcatcher + a doodle of some weird lady, which isn’t finished yet and her hood looks more like hair :S

Here’s a doodle of fishes that I did on my iPad, I basically played around while trying out some new brushes that I got.

So, there will probably be some more posts concerning drawing from now on, maybe.. :D I hope I’ll be drawing a lot while I’m living here in a cottage in the forest!

5 steps on the way

So, I drew the whole mornign a few days ago, I really went in for it, and I’m not done yet. Never worked this long on a picture. It’s gonna be on the frontpage on my website when it’s done [and if it turns out good..]

Here’s 5 steps with what/how I’ve done and how far I’ve come;

First sketch [after a lot of cirkles and lines]. Erased stuff so many times that it got all smudgy and the paper started to break XD
