Sissel Aas

A portrait from the studio session I had with Sissel a while back is now complete! I love mixing what type of models I photograph, and I really enjoy shooting alternative models from time to time – and Sissel is a great, gorgeous girl – and she is also the lead singer (and songwriter) in a local, acoustic indiepop band called Human Earthquakes!

Our Exhibition | The Making Of

So, this will be a fairly long post – but mostly with pictures. I thought I’d show you our exam exhibiton we’ve been working hard on for months now. The facility, how it looked before, the process of setting up an exhibition with 24 photographers (my class that is) and how the vernissage turned out.

It’s been stressful, all the way – and we changed facility in the last minute, but we are so glad we did cause the one we ended up using (located at Gothenburg Film Studios) was really big, and we could basically do what ever we wanted there.

Arriving on tuesday sure felt hopeless – the facilities were so big, empty and… it just felt like a shell, I could not vision an exhibition there. But tools were unloaded, pictures unpacked and we got to work.  Read more

Catalogue

So, the end of my time in school is drawing nearer with every day. Today was the deadline to send in finished pictures for our catalogue, that we’re making and which we’ll be selling at our vernissage in december where my class will be showing our examination projects. The catalogue will contain a few pages for each photographer in my class, and some pictures from that person’s project. It will be a really good looking catalogue, that the people studying to become art directors, copywriters etc, have designed!

I cannot wait for the flyers and official invitations to be made, so I can start inviting people to our vernissage which will be really great and contain lots of amazing pictures from amazing photographers – if you live close by, I hope you’re interested in visiting, and also to buy a copy of our lovely catalogue!

Anyways, here are three pictures from my examination project/portfolio that will be featured in the catalogue:

I’m not blogging or showing anything new now, due to all the stress with the exam and everything, but things are really coming to an end soon, and I’m starting to come closer to being finished – so soon my friends, soon!

I photographed some new still life’s yesterday, and this weekend I’m doing a reportage about two, freelancing creative people – a photographer and a web designer – and their home! Also, I will be working more on my physical portfolio now, so pictures of that process and my portfolio is on it’s way as well.

Stay tuned! /stressed photographer with lots to do

Emmie

Photos that date back all the way to the 14th of May, I haven’t had the time to sit down and edit them until now (thanks for getting a cold? haha).

Anyway, back then me and my dear friend and muse Emmie went in to the studio together with my other friend Martina, who’s also the Make Up Artist for these shots -> Her Facebook page.

It was the first time for Emmie in the studio and it required some warming up but then it went just fine!

My Fear: Video

We got an assignment in school, to make a movie in 2 minutes over a day about our fear. One of my fears is one I think many have.

I fear emptiness and also death, not that I’ll die, but that I’ll loose my near and dear ones. I was at my first funeral recently, and a friends grandma just passed away…. I see how my own grandma is growing weaker and I fear the worst.

To be left alone without those I love around me, it’s one of my biggest fears.

The song is Angel Died by Sergey Kovchik. Shot with a Nikon D7000, edited in Adobe Premiere.

Stock images, office/work themed – a school assignment

We’ve had some lectures with a photographer named Conny who does a lot of stock photography for Johner, and then we got an assignment to take our own stock imagaes. We had a few themes to choose from and I went with work/office.

A lot of pictures were taken today, with Andreas and Martina as models, and Andreas kitchen had to serve as a “home office”. Window light from the left and a softbox from the right. I used a Canon EF 35mm f/3.5 – 4.5.

Monday Projects

So, it’s Friday, and the week with the workshop called Monday Projects is finally over. This week, our teachers thought that “hey, every date has a special day/holiday assigned to it these days – let’s do something with that”

So, on Monday the 17 of october, it was “Wear Something Gaudy Day”. This is your chance to really stick out in a crowd. The word “gaudy” refers to something bright, gay, cheap, showy, outlandish or otherwise not in good taste.

Our assignment was to shoot someone that celebrates this day, and I decided to shoot how I would look if I was to participate in this weird day.
