Our Exhibition | The Making Of

So, this will be a fairly long post – but mostly with pictures. I thought I’d show you our exam exhibiton we’ve been working hard on for months now. The facility, how it looked before, the process of setting up an exhibition with 24 photographers (my class that is) and how the vernissage turned out.

It’s been stressful, all the way – and we changed facility in the last minute, but we are so glad we did cause the one we ended up using (located at Gothenburg Film Studios) was really big, and we could basically do what ever we wanted there.

Arriving on tuesday sure felt hopeless – the facilities were so big, empty and… it just felt like a shell, I could not vision an exhibition there. But tools were unloaded, pictures unpacked and we got to work.  Read more

Emmie

Photos that date back all the way to the 14th of May, I haven’t had the time to sit down and edit them until now (thanks for getting a cold? haha).

Anyway, back then me and my dear friend and muse Emmie went in to the studio together with my other friend Martina, who’s also the Make Up Artist for these shots -> Her Facebook page.

It was the first time for Emmie in the studio and it required some warming up but then it went just fine!

JO! Models

So, you’ve seen the behind the scenes video here, for our shoot with a model named Ida, from JO! Models (model agency here in Gothenburg), a fashionshoot which was part of a school project/fashion workshop. Photographer Per Zennström acted as our teacher/creative director, and the assignment was to make a campaign now that the model agency is re-launching themselves with a new name, site and so on. We were to make a movie (the BTS video in my group’s case), a stillpicture/collage and a stop motion/gif. Stylist was Jennie Bramer, who’s also the owner of JO! Models. Makeup and hair was done by Jeanette Rokas from Rokas Prestige.

My group consisted of Anna-Karin Löfgren, Ellika Henrikson, Evelina HultqvistFanny Jigman, Simon Haglund and of course Rania Rönntoft (me) :)

Livlinan.org

So, we’ve been working for 2 weeks in groups – together with people who study advertising. In my group there was me and Ali (photographers), Emil as Art Director and Kajsa-Stina as a copywriter.

We got an assignment to make a campaign that would draw attention to, and increase the traffic to a site called Livlinan (lifeline). They work with people that have near and dear people that suffer from mental illness in some way, because they feel that they to are important, they feel bad but often forget about themselves because they work so hard to help their loved ones.

We decided that we did not want to use pictures of people or illustrate certain feelings, we wanted to make it clean, bright and hopeful. Something most people could recognize themselves in – regardless of age, gender and ethnicity. We (mostly Kajsa-Stina, the copy) pinned down words describing what a person close to someone with mental illness could feel – and then we decided for the positive opposite of those words (pictures are shown further down in the post).

Eldsjäl – Vad brinner du för? | A reportage

So, for a few weeks I’ve been following some “firesouls” in Gothenburg, as a part of a school assignment, and I’ve done a reportage of them. The assignment was to

visit them at least three times, and to present seven pictures. Only 7! That was so hard, due to the fact that they juggle and stuff, I had to take pictures really fast, and a lot of them, if I wanted to get their equipment in the pictures as well.
I’ve gotten to know some amazing people, and I’ve seen really great stuff being performed with poi, cones and of course fire! I’ve also started to do poi myself, so I will keep coming every thursday, both to practice and hang out with them, and I’ll also continue photographing and later even filming them. So one day this might be a really big reportage or something, and maybe I’ll be perfoming with fire as well one day ;) One can only wait and see.

Wer did the presentation for a photographer at our newspaper here in Gothenburg, named Lisa Thanner, and their picture editor. It was nervous and exciting at the same time – but it all went well. It was also very fun to see everybody else’s reportage’s, they were all very interesting and great!

Afterwards, we had some gingerbread and mulled wine and such, and now it’s holiday, woo!

Any who, here are the seven pictures I chose to present in school yesterday, I’ll show you more pictures later on.

Stock images, office/work themed – a school assignment

We’ve had some lectures with a photographer named Conny who does a lot of stock photography for Johner, and then we got an assignment to take our own stock imagaes. We had a few themes to choose from and I went with work/office.

A lot of pictures were taken today, with Andreas and Martina as models, and Andreas kitchen had to serve as a “home office”. Window light from the left and a softbox from the right. I used a Canon EF 35mm f/3.5 – 4.5.
