Nikon D7000 + Nikkor 85mm f/1.8

I’ve had a slow, relaxed and cozy morning in bed. I got up a little after 07.00, made coffee and breakfast. I crawled back in to bed and enjoyed it all while reading the latest issue of the travel magazine Vagabond.

Right now I’m wearing a supercozy, knitted cardigan, while listening to First Aid Kit (new found love!) and editing pictures from my day out with Andreas yesterday. I’m considering making another cup of coffee. I will make a blog post about yesterday before I continue to work, I have pictures to edit and emails to send.

We’re currently at a café reading, photographing and just enjoying taking it slow and doing nothing in particular.

It’s been 2 year since that and so much has happened. We’ve had a lot of different courses; reportage, architecture and interior, lighting, fashion/studio, movie making, something called “monday projects” and a image agency workshop as well as business knowledge and some courses together with those studying to become art directors, copywriters, like this and this. We also worked with the  3D makers at our school. We had a short, personal projekt as well as our bigger project, the final exam. We’ve taken a trip to Berlin and we’ve made a catalogue/photobook and held a exhibition too.

As for working as a photographer, I have started my own business and had some work. Some weddings, a book cover, photos for da Matteo and a baby shoot are a few jobs I’ve done. There has been a lot of new people/friends/models that I’ve met and photographed during these 2 years and my social skills and portrait skills has developed a lot – as well as the content of my portfolio!

I’ve grown tremendously during this time, both as a person and as a photographer. I’ve learned a lot about technical stuff, from gear and lighting to editing. I’ve learned even more about being professional, handling customers, doing actual work, running a business and to freelance. I’ve also grown in my style and photos, I know my style, what I’m good at, comfortable with and what I want to do. There has also been a lot of development with me as a individual, and I’ve grown a lot during this term of internship.

School has also lead to me finding new, wonderful friends which I love so much! Jenny and Nadim (+ their partners Andreas and Emma), as well as Morten. Great friends and photographers, all of them. I’ve also spent a lot of time -and built a strong friendship with Martina!

It’s also during this time (at the beginning of the education) that me and Andreas went from being great friends to a couple, we’ve lived together ever since and he’s been there for me during everything, rejoicing with me, supporting me when it’s been rough and helped me with all kinds of technical, photography-related stuff. I’ve also made a lot of friends through him and his work – and we’ve had a lof of fun during parties, having dinner, drinking at pubs, having LAN-parties and playing games like Lol and Magic the Gathering.

A very, very small recap for these two years, but it’s hard to write about it all – theres just so much of everything; events, knowledge, joy and hardships. I’ve come a long way, and today is the day I graduate. Theres much left though, I’m not providing for myself as a photographer yet. But today I guess a new chapter in my life starts, and the pages ahead are empty – anything can happen, I can make anything happen.

I have a lot of great experiences and knowledge with me – and I’m sure I can make it, I can become a full time photographer. I also have such amazing support from friends and family, near and dear one. I’ll admit, I am a little scared, but with all these amazing people around me, making me feel happy and safe – I know things will always work out, things can never get too bad because of them – a reassuring feeling that makes me stronger and more confident, and a bit excited as to what the future holds in store for me, for all of us.

She’s an amazingly creative person, she sews, paints, creates things with mosaic, is great in the kitchen but most of all in her garden. It’s really big (growing bigger) and whenever we arrive, there’s a lot of new stuff and changes going on. As always – I stroll through it with my camera, always finding lovely and inspiring things to photograph! This time, she also gave a tomato -and chili plant for me and Andreas to cultivate on our balcony!

Today’s 5 years since I graduated. It was one of the best days in my life. My last year had been rough in a lot of ways, and suddenly I was free. I’ve never cried so much out of happiness as I did that day.

There are some aspects of it that I do miss though. Like all the wonderful people I had a lot of fun with – there’s not as much time for hanging out these days…

 Also, my style back then.. Oh my, I was so cool ;) haha

But I do envy her, I’d love to be in her shoes nonetheless – to be so booked with shoots and make a living out of my photography! I have to remember though, Anna’s been doing it for at least 10 years, I’ve had my business for 1.5 years haha – I have a long road ahead of me!

I can’t show you too much before it’s all published, but I though’t I’d show a little from the 5 shoots we did quite rapidly – like a teaser ;) I’ll blog some more about each once’s it’s published.

The first job was to photograph food (something I was so psyched about!). It was to have a summer theme  -  a lot of food that was easily cooked on, and/or brought to dine at a pier. Sanna Liedgren was both chef and food stylist

 The next job was to shoot interior for NK Stil – the magazine for those with a membership at NK. We did so for 2 days at the castle Bogesund, with all it’s amazing environments. I can’t wait to show you more of that place! 

 Changing completely from food and castles, we moved on to 2 days of photographing kids and some back-to-school fashion for a magazine called Mama. I got to meet one of Anna’s daughters and she was such a sweet girl!

 The next day was sooo rainy, but luckily we were shooting interior at a manor (only a few pictures had to be taken outside) and during rainy days, the light is often very soft and perfect for photography – so we managed it very well anyways. This job was for an interior magazine specialized in estates and manors.

Had I know when editing, that I’d run these two images together, I might have edited the net to be more blue like the door on the picture on the right – but oh well :)
